FAQ’s

Here is a list of frequently asked questions:

When does the tackle football league start?

Games start in the middle of August and the season ends in the middle of October. Exact dates depend on scheduling from year to year. Practices will begin the end of July.

When and where are practices?

It depends on what team the player is on and what age he is. Typically a team will practice 2 or 3 times a week during season and 3 or 4 times a week before season begins. We have 3 practice locations for Junior High and 3 locations for K/5.

What equipment is covered in the cost and what equipment do I need to buy?

The registration fee covers all equipment the player will need to play…helmet, shoulder pads, game pants, pant pads and a jersey. Some teams will fundraise to buy their own jersey’s and that may be a little extra cost. Each player needs to buy their own practice pants, practice jersey, shoes and mouthpiece.

Are there anymore fees after I pay the $85 for tackle football?

Other than what equipment you need to buy [mentioned above] there are no more fees. However, each team raises $250 that goes into the league general account. This is done many different ways depending on how the team decides to raise the money. Anything the team raises beyond the $250 goes right back to that team for trophies, end of the season parties, etc.

If my son starts playing and decides he does not like it, can I get my money back?

Unfortunately we do not give refunds after July 15. The reason is because we have already spent money on equipment, insurance and other expenses. Football is an expensive sport. It costs the league more than $85 for a child to play. Here is a small list of expenses the league has every year…helmets, helmet pieces, shoulder pads, shoulder pad pieces, pants, pant pads, jerseys, insurance, field maintenance, referees, promotion and advertising and the list goes on.
